So what shall I do?
I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind;
I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.(1 Corinthians 14:15, NIV)
I am an independent software developer and consultant based in the Dallas, Texas area. My specialties are Ruby (including Rails), JavaScript and Ajax, Java, agile practices, and good software architecture. In addition to development and consulting, I do training and mentoring for groups large and small.
For the past four years (and continuing this year) I've been a speaker
on the No Fluff,
Just Stuff Java symposium tour. I'm proud to have been associated
with it since its earliest days, when the typical reaction was, A
software conference here in my town? How good could it be?
Now,
though, the NFJS shows have gained the reputation they deserve:
they're great conferences with terrific speakers and solid technical
content. I also enjoy doing other speaking engagements.
In the past I've worked at Countrywide Home Loans, Hotels.com, Delphi Consultants (with consulting engagements at many clients), BusinessWorks, The University of Texas at Dallas, and Computer Power Group in Perth, Australia.
And the important stuff: I'm a husband and father, and a member of Hunters' Glen Baptist Church.
