So what shall I do?
I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind;
I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.

(1 Corinthians 14:15, NIV)

I am Chief Scientist at InfoEther. My specialties are Ruby (including Rails), JavaScript and Ajax, Clojure, agile practices, and good software architecture.

In the past I worked at Relevance, and before that as an independent consultant. I also worked at Countrywide Home Loans, Hotels.com, Delphi Consultants, BusinessWorks, The University of Texas at Dallas, and Computer Power Group in Perth, Australia.

For several years I was a speaker on the No Fluff, Just Stuff Java symposium tour. I'm proud to have been associated with it since its earliest days, when the typical reaction was, A software conference here in my town? How good could it be? Now, though, the NFJS shows have gained the reputation they deserve: they're great conferences with terrific speakers and solid technical content. I also enjoy doing other speaking engagements.

And the important stuff: I'm a husband and father, and a member of Hunters' Glen Baptist Church.
